Quick fixes
- Check your internet connection, then pull down on the AirAhead dashboard to refresh.
- If a widget asks you to connect, open AirAhead once and load the saved place that widget uses.
- If alerts aren’t arriving, confirm the alert is turned on for that saved place and that notifications are allowed for AirAhead in system Settings. New or changed alerts take effect at the next scheduled check, not immediately.
- If the air quality map or a map layer is unavailable, close and reopen the map after confirming your connection.
About the data
AirAhead shows modeled air quality from Google’s Air Quality API, with hourly forecasts up to four days ahead. These are forecasts and model estimates, not readings from the nearest physical sensor, so they can differ from a nearby monitor. Coverage and forecast availability vary by location.
Map layers for fine particles, smoke, and fires come from Copernicus CAMS, NOAA, and NASA, where those sources provide coverage.
AirAhead provides general information and is not a medical or emergency service.
Devices
AirAhead is made for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, with an Android edition for Google Play.
